Also to keep in mind, if you apply for a new job, and the new place calls the manager at this subway, chances are that manager might not give you a ringing endorsement becuase you didn't give em two weeks notice. I don't know if there's a legal process or not.
Giving two weeks is not mandatory. It is mandatory if you ever really want to work for said company ever again however.
