Sounds like you want some onerous government regulations that reduce corporate profit.
I guess if you are going to down the troll path, I guess we could remove a lot of onerous government regulations imposed on businesses.

I want American tech companies to actually exhibit the values and cultures they virtue signal on social media, and stop exploiting cheap foreign labor.

The funny thing was it was the Liberal tech companies that do no evil.
Unfortunately companies are mostly motivated by profit, ergo there needs to be some regulation, and I'm including tech companies in that. Europe for example has stricter rules when it comes to Google and Facebook for example. Why can't the US do the same? Oh right, cries of "over regulation", "socialism", "free market", etc etc. because private corps have a lot of lobbying power in the US.

Regulations are GOOD for the general public. If a company makes $1 billion profit instead of $2 billion, due to regulation, sorry but I'm not going to shed a tear. They already get lots of tax breaks for example compared to the average person so why should they be allowed reap even more profits at the expense of safety, privacy, environment, etc? Those costs get passed down to the general public while their shareholders don't shoulder any of that burden, which they should be made to do.

I am pro free market (flow of ideas, patents, profits) but absolutely want gov't to rein in companies with regulations to ensure they are not harming the general public in some way.

When a particular industry has a lack of qualified or interested American workers, our economy and jobs can actually be boosted by foreign workers. People paying taxes and consuming while boosting productivity and demand for the American workers in their industry is good. But of course it is also possible that foreign workers can be used to displace American workers at a lower wage.

So I think our policy decisions on work visas and renewals should be evaluated regularly with decisions made based on its ability to support American workers.

H1B's here are buying two million dollar houses, luxury cars, and sending kids to $30K/year private schools, all while paying six figure tax bills to subsidize red states and farmers. I am sure they appreciate your concern though.

Good for them. So they’re pissing their money away on overpriced stucco boxes, using depreciating assets as a form of status, and sending their kids to private schools because the local schools are of poor quality, or maybe they don’t want their kids mixing with certain elements. Sounds like they’ve embraced the worst qualities of being American.

"Liberal tech companies" is basically a myth. They're just companies. Somewhere back in the '90s, a couple companies left bowls of Skittles lying around the office for their employees to munch on. Somehow that small gesture got translated into "totally hip" workplaces and that got translated into "liberal".

The point is they have money to piss off on those things. There is no cheap tech labor in California. It can't afford to live here.

Sure they can. The median incomes of H1Bs and the fantastic lifestyle you’re asserting are simply not in alignment. Sure there are outliers, but the fact remains that H1Bs are a corporate bottom line maneuver to suppress wages. That’s why the proposed $130k H1B minimum wage proposal caused such an uproar.

Not in Silicon Valley it didn't.
