Work SUCKS.

Ok, a little back ground information: I don't work mondays or fridays because I am a student and have class on those days (usually.) I work tech support at a god forsaken company in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of morons.

I was trouble shooting with a guy over several phone calls this past week and left him a message to call me back on wednesday as I had something else for him to try. He called back yesterday after I had left, but I wrote an email to my supervisor describing exactly what I was going to have him try and why. I got a call today at 8:30 AM on my day off from one of the lackeys that works there needing help doing what I said in the email, which was pretty basic stuff. I helped him through it so he could talk to the guy, then I get a call about 20 minutes later from my supervisor saying he can't figure it out either and he wants me to COME IN TO CALL THE GUY! I told him that wasn't happening because I have plans for today and he goes off on me about sending emails that he can understand.

It is not my fault he lacks the technical knowledge to do what was outlined in the email. I just got a call about 5 minutes ago from the only support rep there besides me who actually knows what he is doing other than reading from a script telling me that they forwarded the email to him because they couldn't understand it, but he called the customer and walked him through the process and it worked.

I don't understand what in god's name makes this dou*he bag thing he can call me on my day off and yell at me, but what an @$$. Oh, and BTW, the plans I have for today are lunch with my girlfriend then an interview at 2 and another at 4.

Cliffnotes for the verbosity impaired:

Supervisor and almost all of the tech support department are idiots
they called on my day off because they are idiots and wanted me to come in
my supervisor took up an hour of my time to yell at me
other support rep called and said he understood my directions and they worked
I couldn't come in to work today because I have 2 job interviews

EDIT: Work isn't suppose to be fun. Plus if you're going in for interviews, QUIT the damn job.

Yeah seriously.

I'm happy with my job. I work at a game store. I know how the store works just about as well as the manager does, so I'm basically the assistant manager, without the fatter paycheck.

You put in way more effort than I ever did in that type of situation.

Calling me at home was a no-no, emailing me at my personal addresses was even worse, and asking me to come in on my day off is grounds for me to laugh full force at you until you hang up the phont.

Unless you're being paid a considerable sum for 24/7 availability your obligation to said douche bags is over when the clocks hits 5. If they don't like that pay you more. :)

Haha, nice, I wish I had the presence of mind at the time to do that, but they literally woke me up with this crap. Maybe I should call back and ask for my supervisor and when he picks up laugh maniacally untill he hangs up??

If work was fun, it wouldn't be called work. It would be called 'Super Happy Fun Time!'
