Back in rc5, one could make rc5 a service and call it something like cpusrv or something 'normal'.
Boss allowed me to install rc5 as a service and I did on 5 work machines, but he explicitly said that users WILL be allowed to see the task manager and end tasks in case ms word or visio or vc++ more more likely explorer lock up. Neither my boss or I have been approached wondering why a service called CPUSERV or something akin to it has 100% of the cpu resources. My boss will NOT allow me to assimilate the work herd if the service is stuck being called seti. NOR will he allow the service in the program files directory, he wants it is in the winnt/system32 directory. Namely because he likes neatness and seti is not a 'program'.
I have been working with the seti as a service install scripts and in pure randomness I wil eventually get the combo right, but could somebody who is let's say, more used to these scripts, make a new one that shoves the seti files into c:\winnt\system32 and have the service show up as cpuserv or something equally less scary than 'seti' in the task manager.
30 PIV's and 24 P3's hang in the balance.
let me reiterate, I do have full permission and my boss thinks the DC stuff is cool. I approached him a while ago and got rc5 on 5 machines, but did not go for the lab since they were old IBM p2-266's at that time.
OT from that, I am to get cracking on project 2.0 (fibre channel) and should know by tomarrow if I 1) destroyed my computer (90% possibility of hapening) 2) start a fire (50% possibility of happening) 3) work in the end (99% chance of happening) REGARDLESS, I wil have pictures to show everyone this debaticle.
