Wordpad default to Arial 10 point and since space.

I want the default to be San Serf 12 point and double space

how do i set that as default for every wordpad doc i create?

(i'm using wordpad because of compatibility issues between my home computer and the school computers.)

I don't believe you can change the default settings of anything in WordPad except the format it saves in. It's very limited in this way. I've seen some hacks mentioned in the past about it, but I don't recall anything off the top of my head.

Whatever word processor you use almost certainly supports saving in other standard formats (such as RTF, like wordpad) that would bridge any incompatabilities between you and school.

If not, you could use OpenOffice, it's free and can save in many formats, including Word.

Just found a rather reasonable suggestion for how to work around this if you have your heart set on sticking with Wordpad. Just create a new document that has the settings you want, save it as "Template" or whatever, then create a shortcut to launch Wordpad with this "template" document and you're all set. Set it as read-only to avoid accidently overwriting it by hitting save instead of save-as when you work on it.
