This is the general principle:

There are 6 vowels A E I O U Y

A E & I should be covered in your first 2 guesses
U & Y can be covered in the 3rd guess

Now you need to guess consonants in the order of letters with least scrabble points first

They are
R S T L N
P D G C
M B F
H K
V W
J
Q X Z

So it can be something like this:

  1. STAIR
  2. LEMON
  3. PUDGY
Or
  1. SOARE
  2. CLINT
  3. BUMPY
I personally go with the below right now
  1. ARISE
  2. COUNT
  3. GLYPH
Previously it was
  1. STEAR
  2. COLIN
  3. BUDGY/DUMPY
I started with
  1. PRIME
  2. SNOUT
  3. BALDY
 
Kinda a clickbait article, since that's a viable strategy but I wouldn't call it solved by any means.

After all, there's been several times where there's duplicate letters for instance.
