Joel collects comic boods as a hobby. One day he bought a superman comic book and then sold it fo 20% more than the amount he paid for it. Next, he bought a spiderman comic book and sold it immediately for 20% less than its pruchase price. He received the same amount for the superman and the spiderman comic books. Which of the following amounts could represent the total price joel paid for the two comic books combined?

A. $30.30
B. $30.45
C. $30.60
D. $30.75
E. $30.90

Been trying this for 30mins, and I can't get it. I just thought the smart masses at AT would like the challenge. I know there are some people here who have to solve a word problem like this as soon as they see it (me being one, which is why I'm so frustrated 🙂)

Come on, you know he got $36 for the first comic, right? Just multiply the second column numbers by .8 until you get $36. Simple elimination. :beer:
