word perfect blows

i wish it would be consistent. sometimes using tab tabs, and sometimes it indents, and sometimes it affects lines above the cursor, sometimes below.

at least i can look at the markup

It seems that all text editing programs have their share of problems. I use Word, since it seems to be a pretty universaly acceptable format.

I do use Word Perfect if I want text left-aligned in 2 colums on a page. It actually works. Word can't seem to handle that function very well.

Yes Word Perfect sucks, it always has.

Word certainly has other column issues, but what is wrong with the left-alignment? I've done that dozens of times without problem.

Columns seems to work fine by me, or tables with hidden borders, etc.

They all have pro's/con's but with some haggling I can do what I want in any of them.
