Word (Office 2k SBE) starts SLOW when connected to the network...

As stated, when I am connected to our small peer to peer network here at work (4 PCs, one 8 port switch. Using ICS to access the internet through a satellite.) Word takes upwards of 45 seconds to load. If I disable the connection it loads in 4-5 seconds.

Mine is the only pc on the network that it does this on. Excel and outlook both load up fine... 😕

I've searched the KB with no luck, talked to a friend of mine that is the IT Admin at a school system and he has never heard of it either.

I am running W2k, Office 2K SBE on a PIII 933 with 256mb ram. As it is directly related to wheter or not I am connected I highly doubt that it is the machine causing any problems.

Any suggestions? I have un-installed and re-installed several times with no difference.

Thanks!!

Thanks for the info.

I agree that Word must be trying to find something. Removed the printer (Shared trough another PC) and it made no difference.

I noticed something else today while messing around with this. When I am connected to te network any right click operation takes forever also... 😕

Take it off the network and everything is good.....

I am probably going to blow the PC clean and re-install everything...

Sheesh..
