Word of warning to potential Seagate ST94811A buyers

I received this drive today and when trying to install it, I discovered that I couldn't close the front cover (housing the touchpad) on my Sony PCG-R505JE. Turns out that the metal plate covering the top of the drive extends to cover the interface pins, whereas on my previous Toshiba MK2018GAP, the metal plate ends right before the pins, allowing my cover to close. Man was I disappointed! Luckily, I was able to do a little mod by cutting off part of the right mouse button underneath the cover and snapping off one of the plastic pins that hold the button in place. Now it fits, but barely, and I had to damage my laptop doing so. :( Still, the damage isn't visible, so it's not too bad. I'm installing XP on it right now, and will report on the speed increase if anybody's interested. Just a note of caution to potential notebook hard drive buyers out there, be careful!

P.S. I am not blaming Seagate or anyone else with this post, I am just stating the fact that it didn't work with my notebook. It's possible that Sony messed up on HDD clearance specs as well, so please don't flame. Thank you!
