OK, I put this in the network category because, the file is located on a server. Now the problem is this; if you explore to the file, and double click it to open it. The file loads fine. However, when you go to edit the file, you recieve an error stating that your computer does not have enough memory or disk space. But when you open word on the client's box. Then open the file from word, you can edit to your heart's content. WTF!
My only thought is that the when you explore to the file, the server is actually trying to feed you the document. I DON'T KNOW.... any thoughts?

Are you sure your extension mapping is correct. In other words is it trying to open in Word or trying to open in notepad or wordpad?

If the doc is large enough, and it is trying to open in either notepad or wordpad you will see this type of error and whereas if you open it up from within the Word application it opens up fine.

The test you can do is copy it to your Hard drive and just double click on it as you would on the server and see if it produces the same problem, then you will know if it is a network related issue or a configuration problem on your computer.

The document is a MS Word document. Now, in the tests, it was opened two different ways, but in the exact same program. You can actually open the document either way, but if you explore to it, and open it that way, you simply cannot edit it. Where you can, if you open it from inside Word.
The problem here comes from when you open Word from the document, vs opening the document with Word.

Maybe the Word app is trying to autosave over the network when you open it from the server? got me, thats all I can think of!
