Word 2000

I cannot start Word 2000. I am currently running Windows Millenium Edition and every time I try to start word, it freezes in the initial welcome Windows Word 2000 screen. If I then press Control-Alt-Delete I get a message that states that the memory is critically low. There is no problem launching any other programs and the rest of my system is working perfectly. I have also tried to uninstall the software and reinstalling it but the same problem persists. I also have run a full virus scan and scandisk but that did not help either. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

i dont know what causes this but ive seen it happen on comps runnin win 98 and win 2k also. actually happened to me once. i just uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it worked fine after that. dont really know the cause or any other solutions tho.

All i know is that when it happened to me it was after i installed that sr-1 patch or whatever it is called. that caused more problims then i thought possiable. after a whilc it would just open then imidatly close. really annoying

hopefully that helps
