Im confused... why would Comcast's bid on Disney drive up PIXAR when PIXAR jsut broke ties with Disney?

BTW I pay $120/month for RoadRunner Internet and Time Warner Digital Cable.

Disney still gets a large chunk of revenue from the films Pixar made while under the distribution agreement with Disney. Also, Disney gets the rights to any sequels of films made by Pixar within the former agreement while Pixar gets it's share as well.

The proposed takeover opens up all kinds of revenue opportunities for both companies even though Disney will distribute no more Pixar produced films.

A change in management could also create a better negotiating atmosphere between the two companies.
