As for numbers, the 5.7 liter Hemi spits out 345HP and 375 lb-ft of twist, better numbers than any of the competition. The only gas engine that outpowers the 5.7 liter Hemi is the hugely massive 8.1 liter 340 HP / 455 lb-ft V8 only available in the 2500 HD / 3500 Silverados
technically that engine doesn't outpower the hemi.
Yes it does, by a wide margin. When it come to truck engines, torque is more important than horsepower. Torque IS the end-all be-all when it comes to trucks.
But even so, you can only get the 8.1 in the heavy duty GM trucks. The Hemi will be available in the 1500 RAM. The next powerful engine would be Chevy's 300 HP / 360 lb-ft 6.0 liter V8.
yes, but you said outpower, not out-torque. the dodge is more powerful by 5HP, or about 3.73 kilowatts.
