The GStwin board is down and I know some of the guys hang out here too.

Bob sent my modified CA or 49 state V&H knock off on monday and it came today.. Woot!

Now I can do burnouts....

What is an Ignition Advancer you ask?

Well what it does is what its named. It changes the ignition timing which otherwise is hardcoded on the GS500. The US standard GS500's are already set to run really lean from factory, and CA bikes are even more leaner. The first thing they do to make it lean is to jet it lean, the second is to change teh ignition timing on the bike. The 2001 GS500 that I have has stock carb jets at the moment, but the ignition timing (CA bike) is set at 5 degrees BTDC (or firing) and the Non CA bikes its 11 degrees but in actual it should be 17degrees to keep in par with our european guys who can do burn outs.

So this guy called Bob copies Vanes & Hienz design which is at 15 degrees and basically makes them out of the rotors he gets. He modifies them and then sends it out and then the next guy who gets it sends back his STOCK rotor so he can make teh changes.. and the guy doesnt even charge for anything, welll he asks for us to send 5 bucks for teh shipping fee, but that's nothing considering he has to cut, weld and drill to get it modified.

Woot.. now I can do burnouts.

I am off to go install it.. wonder where the instructions are.. unless he included them

Edit: he is not violating V&H's design.. why because V&H stopped making it after countless ppl begging for them to start making it again.. guess not enough sales.
