I will post pics later, after i clean her up and put new strings on it.

I bought the gutair in India years ago (about 1990/91) and i have had it with me since then. When my sister got married in 1998 I was to give it to a friend who wanted it. So the plan was to give it to another friend who would toss it over to the guy who was getting it. Somehow the whole thing got screwed and it ended up going to bangalore. I was in Bangalore last year during near years (2000/2001) and I didnt know it was there or I would have brought it back with me. My sister when leaving for the US with her husband found it and sent it off to our ancesterial home in Calcutta. She shoudl have told me that she found it when she did, I got to know about it when she arrived here.

My parents were recently in India for about a month and I asked them to get it. They werent sure cause it was a huge package. But they finally did manage to bring it as a checked in luggage. I was unsure if it made the trip despite all the fragile stickers on it. I took it apart now and its in very good shape, not damage despite the shipping box having some bruises.

The sound quality has improved (the wood ages and gives a better sound). I need to figure out how to get a damn wasp's nest on the side taken out, I also need to vaccume it and take out the some things that are making a crackling sound. Also how do we polish it to a nice good shine. I used to use lynnseed oil to keep the wood in condition but I dont know where to get that oil.

I am so excited.. :)

Pics I will post later.. need to find the digital camera.

Sounds nice, hopefully you can find a good guitar shop or luthier to help you restore it.

I think you should be able to find linseed oil in a hardware store, or perhaps a multipurpose type store with some hardware type of items.

" I dont know where to get that oil."

Any hardware store will have it.

You didn't mention the make of guitar. Guess it will become a family heirloom after going through all that! :p
