my friend has a HP LaserJet 2100. He bought it for about $900 a couple years. Was a great laser printer. but it recently died on him. He had no idea what the problem was. so I told him I would take a look at it. brought it home, and couldnt fix it. I had no idea what the problem was either.. neither did my roommate.
So I told him that I would try to sell the broken one for about $100 or so... but it seemed like it would be soo easy to fix. we posted it at $500.. haha I know.. that was wayy too much.. but it was still a great printer.. if someone could just fix it. no one asked about it..
I came home today and "thought" that I had the solution to the problem. I had asked in the forums and someone told me what he thought the problem was. I tried it but that wasnt the problem at all. Got kinda frustrated, so me and my roomie started to tear the thing apart.
There we found a little button in the back of the printer hidden.. of course we played around with everything.. turning it on every once in while to see if it worked.. but we realized that we didnt have any paper in there.. we put it in.. still didnt work.. then realized that the toner was still out.. (damn we were getting lost) put that in.... BAM! it turned on and started to warm up... connected it to a computer. worked like a charm..
Almost sold that for around $100. good thing we tried it. now he doesnt have to buy a printer.. and he doesnt have to throw away a good printer either.
