woot got a new Digital camera and Video camera.

Well a while ago my son decided that my A80 needed to be flushed down the toilet. which helped the camera to die (was having problems before). so while wondering around waiting for dinner we stopped in at best buy to look.

i had been doing some looking on and off. i prefer cannon (have had a few. last ones were the A40 and A80) and wanted one in the A80 series. but they felt to small and cheap.

liked the Canon S5 IS but they didn't have it in stock. i was a little disappointed on that. But they had the kodak Z812 IS in and it felt nice in the hand.

i wanted a larger camera mainly because i have rheumatoid arthritis and its hard gripping the small cameras. these two were a nice size.

Also picked up a Canon Zr950 camcorder.

nothing expensive but good enough for what i use them for. heh I'm all excited! lol

Interesting that your new digicam captures 720p HD video. Let us know how good the quality is.

I've thought about picking up an S5IS for the "toss in bag and go" camera. I messed with one at CC and wow the controls are not very easy to use - coming from the dSLR's though is probably why.

yeah the controls are great.


i had not noticed that it does 720p. didn't really care about the "movie" res. never used it on my other cams
