i've never used dialup.

what's it like?

well it used to have a lot of busy signals, dropped calls and the like. now its just slow

i'm getting massively dropped packets at random intervals, but that's probably just cause my ISP sucks, not my connection.

congrats 😛... now if only i could convince my parents to get a faster connection for when i come home from school on breaks 😛

Either other people have far worse experiences with dialup than I do, or broadband is faster than my wildest dreams 😱

Things load fast enough over 56k on this end. I just steer clear of Fark photoshop threads and the like 😉

My problem with dialup is that I could never get more than 33K, and I've wasted money on a varieties of modems. I currently have cable modem with 500/128 speed, not the best price/performance, but it's heaven compare to dialup. Over at theinquirer.net, there is an article about broadband with 100Mbs up and down, wish I have that for $40/month.
