Alright, so I dorm at Univ of Maryland: College Park, and for those of you who have ever visited the freshmen dorms, you know how small they are. Well in my situation, I was in a room the size of a double (10x10) but it was converterd into a triple. Barely any room to move around, not alotta room for stuff, etc.

So I had put in my room change request, but really didn't expect to get it changed due to how late I had put it in. Also, I was really selective on where I was going to get transfered to (I'm in the nicest of the freshmen dorms, very clean, 10 seconds away from the dining hall, 2 minutes away from the CRC, etc). Lo and behold I get an e-mail today saying I'm now in a double!

Boy am I happy! I might go down there in a little bit to meet my new roommate.

</happiness>

Actually a lot of kids move out of the dorms in College Park. Whether it's fraternity/sorority housing, on-campus apartments, off-campus housing (which is extremely cheap), or renting a house. For example, I know 9 kids on my floor alone that are moving off campus next semester.

I lived in a triple my freshman year at ucla and sucked it up. three girls in one room, the only thing that seemed to make our room look bigger is that we only had one small tv, and three laptops. and we stuffed things in closets to make it look hospitable.
