Phillips Magnavox 17" (107S)

Works perfectly!!

Question for ya... Is it possible to use 3 monitors at once using 2 video cards? (Radeon 9700 w/dual AGP, and a crappy PCI card)

UPDATE:

Yes. We run 3 x 17" in our call center.

I'd be a dumpster diver if I could find a place worth diving.

...and I run a triple head config w/ 2 cards. Most newer cards support multiple, some olders do.

Its a community recycler/trash area... I was dropping some trash bags off and noticed it....

Wouldnt you take a free 17" monitor?

No, I would not take a 17" CRT monitor cause I got no room for it. But if its a LCD..... :)

Guess it is your lucky day huh?

Should work as long as the drivers don't conflict. We run Matrox G550 and a cheap ATI Rage Pro card.

Yes, I would. I'd take the case off to ensure there isn't a nest of roaches or ants inside though. It was probably thrown away for a reason.

I have two NEC 486s (the whole box/ps/500mb HD/etc) that I found at the dumpster. Took them upstairs, cleaned them off, found they don't work...I still have them...don't really know why. :p

Free = Good.

Yep, Matrox MGAs are pretty good. That's what I use at work, 4 & 8 meg millenium2. Yes, the rest of the computer is just as crappy, excluding the 60 gig Maxtor.

Nothing to be ashamed of if you're working solely in the second dimension. The old Matrox cards had excellent quality.

Free computer stuff is the best. I found a 486 with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse the other day. It works great actually!

Or a dead little girl who'll crawl out of the monitor and get you.

few months ago, i was driving to my house, 2 blocks away, and i see a monitor. So i pulled over and was about to take it (it was sitting in the front lawn, discarded). Then the owner comes out and i ask if it's trash and he says it is and works fine. I took it home and boom .. 17" Sony monitor ..FREE
