I got my Certificate of Eligibility today. :awe:

Everyone here(at my house) is happier now. :) As soon as I get health insurance(Which is irrelevant) I can start volunteering at the humane society now. This also means I will be able to pay for my car, car insurance, gas, food, and some other expenses if there are any. (Probably be able to pay for books) And I'll not have to pay tuition for 4 years... Yay. :)

Any recommendations on credit cards? I do need to build up some kind of credit history.

Congrats, yet again someone else is going to foot the bill to try to make something of you. And no doubt you'll find some way to whine about it pretty soon.

Try not to be such an ass all the time.

I've got to agree with kiwi astronomer on this one. Trident seems to prefer to moan about how terrible his life and family is rather than actually man up and do something about it.

You can volunteer when you're old. As soon as you can, either start going to school or get in the workforce.

I'm already in school. :\ I just can't do volunteering at the humane society because I need health insurance, but that will be changing soon.

Instead of volunteering, work part time. That's what I would do anyways.... I knew a guy that would commute to university every day, an hour each way. Last I talked to him, he was in his third year doing electrical engineering.

And he worked FULL TIME. He had the most ridiculous schedule. He would go to all of his classes, immediately go to work afterwards, and then get home at like 1 or 2 AM.

He still maintained a B average on top of all that, and he would barely try.

I'm not that guy and I don't have any job experience, references, or any certifications... So I don't see me getting a job in this market very easily.

I thought you had a job...?

If it's not one that gives "job experience," then get a real job. Or a second job. Whatever, just don't volunteer before you've already got something established (or if you know volunteering will help you in your career).

Maybe Kellogg's will foot the bill...

I have never had a job.

I don't have anything established in the job market?

How do you think you get job experience or references if you never get a job? You're not going to start at the top.

When I was applying for jobs coming out of school one of the places I interviewed at said they didn't expect people to have much experience in the field right out of school but if you never had a job (ANY job, no matter what it was) that was a serious red flag. Even if you just flipped burgers for a summer that means that somebody somewhere thought you were worth paying to keep around.

I don't think many places are handing out jobs like they're nothing when unemployment and shit is incredibly high.

Have you even tried? You're looking for an unskilled part time job. The turnover at these jobs is typically high even during a bad economy.

If you wanted a job you should have applied for one during October and November. Stores typically bring on extra workers to deal with the holidays.

I don't think it's wise to even think about getting a credit card without having a job. What am I thinking, you can't get a credit card without a job.

Well, sad times are ahead for probably a long time if things don't go over superbly.

I don't have Washington residency even though I've been here over a year because my parents A) Didn't get their Washington driver's licenses until 2 months ago(Yep, they were here for over a year and kept using their licenses as a way to evade sales tax charges in Washington). B) Didn't have a home or have their home sold until this year in March. They also didn't rent a place they instead paid my half-bro and ex-sis-in-law money (No paper trail) to stay at their place. C) Didn't register to vote until like a month ago. D) Didn't get their license registration/title shit figured out until about 2 months ago too E) And they haven't had jobs... They're retired.

Oh and since I moved up here and instantly registered for classes as soon as I did and started attending it makes it appear that the reason I moved here was because of education purposes... Which is false. I didn't move here to go to a POS community college. I moved here because I was forced to because I had nowhere else to go, but that's hard to believe with ALL THESE OTHER THINGS...

So what does this all mean? It means I do not get free college because I am not a resident at Washington... Yup-yup...

Sad times bros!

Oh and I cannot try to act like an independent because if I did that then I probably wouldn't get any benefits anyway, and that's impossible anyway because I am filed with them on their taxes or something apparently.

Aaarrrrrgghhh... Why do things have to be difficult?
