Wooo! Bought a Hot Tub - it is now on my deck! (pics!)

After much research, shopping around, and wet-testing some models, we finally bought our first Hot Tub! We ended up getting a 1 year-old Beachcomber 350 and have the remainder of the 2-year warranty transferred to us. Ironically we had *just* wet-tested this EXACT same model in a showroom days before - then I saw a Craigslist ad for this one that was new 14 months ago.

On the deck and ready to go:

Now it just needs to get filled and powered-up! I am going to wait on that though as we are leaving for a week-long vacation trip (camping on the beach) on Friday. Can't wait to get back and try it out!

After all the work and money spent... my Deck is now COMPLETE!

I see your shadow 😛

I'd like to get a hot tub... but when you have friends who have hot tubs do you need your own? 😛

nice. i want a hot tub so bad! hmm i want a deck too. been thining of building one for the last 5 years..heh

It's too hot for a hot tub.

I have actually been told by a co-worker that has one that on very hot summer days you can drop the temperature down into the mid-eighties and enjoy a refreshing "cool" massage in the tub!

I am quite looking forward to sitting in it in winter watching the snow fall around me!

I never got into saunas and I don't like any of that relaxation stuff, but dang if a hot tub doesn't feel awesome. I house-sat for my friend last year and used it every morning for 15 minutes when I woke up. Yeah, I want one. Congrats! 🙂

Can you set it into the deck? Having it on top of the deck isn't the classiest thing in the world

I would prefer not having it built in. Without built in, it's free to be moved wherever you want. Doesn't look bad either, the case is nice

did you have to add more support to the deck for the added water weight?

Yep - added an extra 2x10 header and two 4x4 posts below where the center of the tub sits. You can see it in this picture just to the right of the stack of paving stones in the lower left:
(BTW - We didn't fill it yet because we are going on vacation Friday morning for a week.)

Maybe I'm old school (or ghetto?), but I've never gotten in a hottub with such 'helper' steps. 😛

Quite awesome deck, btw.
