Woohooo! Roadrunner just bumped my connection to 5mbps! :)

yeahh well not everyone got it yet. i contacted time warner and they said they have no plans for this area to increase speed. maybe they'll consider it at the end of the month 🙁😉🙂

What do you actually use that needs that much download speed? Other than BT or something, most people have no use for that speed. I wish they'd just lower their prices and leave the speeds where they were.

how much are you paying/month. i have RR also, and it's worth every cent. i have a need for speed.

$29.99 for the next 4 months... Then its around $35-37 due to the package discount.

mine started at $24.99/mo as a promo and now it's $44.99. RIPOFF!!!! but once you have it you can't go back.

They scheduled planned maintenance for tomorrow and Friday. Looks like Upstate NY is getting bumped to 5mbps by the end of the week. Now if they could just get rid of the lag and bump the upstream up.

Quiet you! You are no longer allowed input on this. Same Price + Faster Speeds = Good

I'm seeing 590 KB/s down off newsgroups right now. Its odd cause its back to where the speeds were 5 years ago. They dropped speeds over the years and are now bringing it back up again. Competition maybe?

Mine got bumped a while ago, but we never saw the results and we got pixelation on our digital channels (100+), so we had a tech come out. He found that our main splitter coming into our apartment was from the 1980's and was only a 400mHz splitter, and since digital cable goes way up into the 1Ghz+ range, it was blocking a lot of those.

Sooo... he replaced it and now our we get very little pixelation (if any) and my newsgroup downloads are 550-625k/sec. 🙂 w00t!

Hmm, actually I just reset my modem and they may have bumped it. I normally get 2.5mbps but I got 3.2mbps. The maine rr test gives me 4.5 and I normally get about 2.8 from there.

Edit: I forgot there was a nj test server on dslreports if you log in. Did that and I got 4.7mbps. 🙂

anyone know when/if NC it getting a bump?

EDIT: Nevermind. we already got it. I had to powercycle my modem (leaving it unplugged for about 30-45 seconds)
