Went shopping for a kayak for father's day... ended up getting a really good deal on a 27 speed bike. (regularly 800, got it on sale, old model discount, and store employee really screwed up and irritated me further discount end price = $400)
The bike is sweet. So far, being completely out of shape, I can easily hit 25 to 31 miles per hour for at least a quarter mile at a time. My average speed on it on level ground is around 17 or 18 right now.. Given a couple of weeks, I should be in the low 20's on longer rides.
Now, during my lunch break today, I had a store about 1 1/2 hours from here put a kayak on hold for me. I had intended to go to a different place to try out a few kayaks, including this one. The one on hold was highly recommended by a lot of people. Plus, it's on sale and it's the last one. Instead of paying around 600+ where I was going to go, I'm getting it for just over 400. Another sweet deal. 🙂
25 miles a day on the bike, followed by a few miles a day in the kayak, and I'll be in great shape before the summer is half over! 🙂
