the word "Jap" is offensive to Japanese people. I learned it from my friend who was in Japanese 5 back in high school.

he mentioned that if people wanted to be safe, they should use "jpn" for short, but never Jap.

they said it a lot in Pearl Harbor, the one with Ben Athleck.

some people will live in ignorance.
