About a week or two ago I kinda dropped my phone on the ground, and messed it up. It still works, but the display si screwy and the battery cover will barely fit on, etc...

Anyway, I was talking to a friend of mine at verizon yesterday about getting it fixed. He said to call him at work today, so I did... his friend at verizon just picked me up a replacement phone for free :)

What model? I dropped my good ol Nokia 5160 on cement, back in the day, and it just took a scratch. Although I guess it all depends on how they hit. These new tiny ones(like my miniature 3390) just feel so flimsy. I'm scared to touch the damn thing! :)

I was running after some bastard that drove off with $14.50 in gas and my phone (Nokia 5160) hit the parking lot pretty hard. Just took a couple scratches and shut itself off. I turned the thing back on and haven't had any problems with it. It's a really solid phone.

I was feeling particularly bright one night, and I rolled of a couch with my phone in my pocket. Cracked the display. The phone still works, but i can't see anything on the screen. I guess i should maybe get it replaced. Don't they have some card in them that identifies the phone. If so, could i just buy the same model on ebay and put that in the new one?

TIA

Edit: the phone is a nokia 5185i
