"Audi is introducing a new top-of-the-range engine along with the launch of the new A4 generation: the V6 with five-valve cylinder head produces 162 kW (220 bhp) from 2976 cc at 6300 rpm. Its peak torque of 300 Nm is available at 3200 rpm. It consequently accelerates the A4 saloon with front-wheel drive and 5-speed manual gearbox from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, and on to a top speed of 245 km/h. The average fuel consumption of this version is just 9.5 l/100 km (1999/100 EC). "

What's this mofo gonna cost?

Hopefully it's not the 4-5k that Audi charges you to bump up to the 2.8 from the 1.8t like they do now.

That's one thing that I hate about them, they make you bump up to the 2.8 for 4k just to get leather. Bastards! I want leather in my 1.8t.

If normal pricing trends continue, the price will stay the same or close to the current 2.8. The gap will still be there between the 1.8 and the 3.0, but since the 2.8 is gone now, the're no need for yet another price premium.

This is similar to what BMW did when they dropped their 2.8 for the 3.0. More horespower and no price premium.

What I meant to say was I hope that it doesn't cost MORE than the already existing 4-5k gap. I also believe that that the gap will stay about the same.

Hmm... 1.8t is also spec'd at 150 HP. Missprint?

Looks like it might this may-august might be a good time to nab a 2001 1.8t for "cheap" :)

Well, this is the German info. As far as I know, the '01 1.8T's got 170HP.

Yup 170 on the '01's. Wondering if they'll keep the '02's at 170, or if they'll bring it back down to 150 like the site says.

4 liters in a gallon (although i have seen 4.8 but I believe it is 4), 1.6 km in a mile, so 9.5/100 km=
2.375 gallons/62.5 miles = 26mpg
