I like...A LOT! Probably the only dodge I would consider owning. Also, about the only convertible I would consider owning because of it's 4 person seating.

What do you think...$40,000 range?

Read here about the decision on the Charger:

http://www.car-truck.com/chryed/buzz/b030501.htm

<< Every day, I receive several letters from readers wondering about the status of the Charger. They still come despite the fact that last April Buzz Watch broke the story that Dodge had canceled their plans to do a production version of the cool Charger R/T concept. In a subsequent column I told you that the while the Charger R/T as designed was dead, work was being done to design a different Charger.

The original concept was not very popular within Chrysler. Personally I loved the look of the concept, like most of DC's show cars it's stunning in person. However, looking back over the readers poll responses for 1999, your opinions, where decidedly mixed as well. While most liked the idea of a modern RWD muscle car, a good portion of those who responded said they didn't like the look of the car or that they hated the four-door setup or both. Never-the-less the letters requesting that Chrysler "Build The Charger!" keep coming in.

The bad news is that its still dead. If you want a Charger R/T concept your only options are to get one of Donie's awesome prints or the Hot Wheels replica. The good news . . . one of my Ace Buzz Patrollers reports that Chrysler has heard the consumers and is developing a vehicle that will celebrate Dodge's performance heritage and please Muscle car fans.

Sweet! That's gonna be an awesome car. Hopefully Chrysler will attach an "awesome" price to it.

I saw that car reviewed/driven by Jim Scouten on Car&Driver (TNN, weekends) and he said that even though it will probably go into production, it's still up in the air whether or not it will have an actual Hemi engine. The car the showed had a Hemi-looking engine cover, with a V6 underneath. I hope they don't fsck up and NOT put something like a good-ole Hemi V8 in it.

Chrysler needs it, ever since the days of Muscle Cars went away they have really been a bomb out, minus the Viper. I know everyone is a Ram fan for the looks but under the hood are some very outdated motors (Until 2002) that were still only a Shadow to the 351 and 350. And in the 3/4 and above all the years of bad rear ends.

Unpopular within Chrystler? Did the designer piss some higher ups off or something? The Charger concept looked like a feasable car that would bring back long hood-short deck styling. (mmmmm, 1 acre hood) :)

doggie, with a top speed of 160, you think it would be a 5 speed, at least. 4 gears for the much speed is strange.

Thank god!!! It's nice to know I can still have faith in Chrysler even after the merger...

Needless to say - I'm glad to see them give this beast the OK :)

I'm glad, it sucks to have to wait until 2005 but that will be a great seller.

I want to know if they are going to start putting this new HEMI in the Dodge Dakota Sport R/T? I know they will put it in the Ram, but could you imagine it in the Dakota Sport R/T?? That would be one quick truck.

Speaking of 300's, this Mopar collector guy I know was over last night to scan and e-mail some pics of a Caramel 300G that he has. Sweet car! Rare too, if I remember correctly, he said only about a dozen were made with that colour.

What's a hemi engine? I've heard quite a bit about it. It has a different kind of combustion chamber. What's so special about it? Like tech details?
