You're going to use the old rods in your new engine? :Q

Why?

I'd suggest investing in an aftermarket camshaft, even if it's a smog-legal mild one.

Oh. Yeah.. Probably. For some reason I thought the bag of rods/pistons was from his old engine.

Man, those pistons look like they've been through the ringer. See all that caked on carbon? That's what happens when you don't use synthetc oil, Tyler. :p

BTW, I hate it when people call engines motors. :p

mo·tor n.
1. Something, such as a machine or an engine, that produces or imparts motion.

2. A device that converts any form of energy into mechanical energy, especially an internal-combustion engine or an arrangement of coils and magnets that converts electric current into mechanical power.

The rods are used, but they're out of the block in the picture, not out of my block. I'm not even sure if those are still straight :) Also, with the blower on there, the stock cam is really a pretty decent cam, and I don't think that going to another cam will show me $300 worth of performance.

Bah!

en·gine
n.

A machine that converts energy into mechanical force or motion.
Such a machine distinguished from an electric, spring-driven, or hydraulic motor by its use of a fuel.

That's actually interesting. I guess that would mean that both terms are technically correct. I always use motor to describe an electric motor and engine to describe an internal combustion engine, though.

You're going to be putting 400 ponies through stock con rods? Why not get some Eagle rods for cheap?

Yeah.. using stock rods for a souped up engine seems like a bad idea. You're just begging to throw one, especially used ones.
