i didn't notice until Dingas pointed out in my last thread that the reply i typed put me up to Senior Member 😀

well i've now got the PC up and running, but i can't install any version of Windows that i've got onto the HDD (2k went the furthest, but needs at least 632MB, i only got an old 540MB one 🙁), so i can't think of a way of running Seti. what else can i run for now, bearing in mind that i do not have a network card or internet connection, but i DO have an empty HDD to be used.

Man, we are sure getting to be a bunch of old men around here. 😉

Congratulations to our newest "Seniors"! 🙂

Congrats on Senior Status😀

Are you sure you can't install win2k in minimal mode, where you unselect as much as possible?

Else install win 98, I have win 98 on a 300MB partition, with 126MB free..

You can run Seti there in a command prompt, or run RC5/OGR by sneakernet😀

I was a senior member once..........ah.....the good old days...........

Congrats.

Now...onto the computer question......What versions of Windows do you have? Win9X/ME should fit. All you need is the basics.

9x will fit fine.

DNet DOS client will work until you can get the OS loaded..you'll have to sneakernet to it though.
