I'm so pumped up right now!! My G0 just passed the first round of prime at 420x9 :). I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I've had the chip running at 3.6 for a couple months and never tried to push it further. Right now I'm pushing the vcore at 1.47 so I hope it doesn't cook. Right now load temps are at 67C :). What do you all think of using that vcore if it stays relatively cool?

Once again...Fck yea!!!

still not good with that high of a vcore.

If your machine is something that loads up 100% of the time nonstop, ie, a DC computing machine, then your chip is going to die from over voltage in some time. If you dont care and dont expect to keep your chip longer then 1-2 yrs, then i guess its okey.

But im pushing my G0 @ 1.45Vcore and thats under water with these temps:

uneven coretemps is because my ihs is not flat, and i didnt have time to lap this one. :T personally i wont until penryn rolls around in 2 weeks and i do a chip replacement.

I get really shakey when it comes to voltage in the 1.5 range.

But its a great overclock on air. Too bad it will only last you about 7 months. Once summer rolls around your in for it. :X

BTW whats the bin on that chip?

Yea :) I have my window open and my fan on high. Its about 19C in here. I kind of want to fry the chip in a couple of years so I will have an excuse to upgrade lol. In all seriousness though I probably won't keep this as my 24x7 OC. Btw it has made it for 4 rounds in Prime and the temperatures are stablizing in the low 60s! Core 2 is at 58. I wonder how far I can push it.....

nice work on air!

my G0's at 1.4775 in the bios (before vdroop) so it's actually getting around 1.39v and depending on room temps, can get up to as high as 71c on a full prime load. that's with an ip35 pro & tuniq. 400x9

i keep C1E & EIST enabled so it crusin at 2.4ghz at idle.

Update: Ok well after a couple of hours of prime I was satisfied, tried for 4GHz and it was a no go at 1.55v. The temps were touching 70 but it would fail prime after a minute or so . I decided my 24/7 OC will be 3.2 b/c I can get to it on stock volts. On a side note, my window is open and at 3.2GHz my max load is 40C. I love autumn!

Also im using a TRU120Ex lapped w/ an ambient temp of around 17 or 18C.

jeesh, 3.4 on a G0 is easy for me, and you got 3.7. For me, 1.408 vcore, and stable as can be, temps@51-55c full load.

Why don't you at least do 3.4 ?

I don't really need 3.4, and I can get 3.2 on stock volts. OCing is just a hobby, I don't have any real use for it.

I think most of us who overclock like to test how high our chips can get even if we can't realistically run them at those speeds all the time. I still think the goal should be to run the chip as high as cooling will allow.

I agree. It's fun to see how fast you can get your chip, even if you need 1.55vcore lol. I wish I knew more about electromigration so I could understand how the voltage kills or degrades the chip even when kept cool...I think I'll google it tonight. From what i've heard 10% over your VID is okay for 24/7 use so if my VID is 1.300 then I should use 1.43v and see what my max OC is. Hrmm ok I am starting to ramble so yea...
