On the hardware I got a score of 768 (passing is 515)

On the software I got a score of 691 (passing is 505)

time to celebrate tonight!

I got vouchers online to take it for $85 per test... the regular price is $145 from pearson per test...

and yes, thank you Sex Smurf...

Congrats. I studied for the test but the damn test was too expensive, even with vouchers. I do use my book as a resource though !

To OP: Congratulations, don't let the haters get you down. Great job.

To Haters: Are you guys A+ Certified?

Was it as easy as they say? What's the point of getting that cert. these days?

If you're just starting out in the IT field, maybe 10k increase in what you can ask for salary.

I am MCP & CCNA Certified. I am taking my A+ soon.

Cool. I plan on taking it with Thomson Prometric next week. $95 vouchers on sale, so I figure I might as well.

Was it fairly easy? Did you have to recall many numbers? Like, remembering all the rated speeds of PIO modes and DMA/UDMA modes? Just wondering if I should brush up on anything...

It's not really that hard if you study a little bit before it... I learned some stuff actually but I have most of it down already...

Gj, i have mine, helped me get a job in DC making 20+ an hour....

On another note, the hardware is cake for any AT person, the OS was somewhat easy if you read up a little.

Nice job! I'm going to be taking my CCNA in two weeks. Now I'm thinking about doing the A+ over summer. How did you study?

I borrowed a cd from one of my instructors (total seminar or something) and it had 11 tests per hardware and software with 50 some questions on each test... was a good practice for me...

and then from the company I bought vouchers from they gave 2 free 99 question practice tests...

I didn't read anything out of the A+ book I borrowed from a friend

I wonder why I'm going to college

Who's that poster that lists all of his IT certs in his signature and at the bottom how many times he's dropped out of college? Good stuff.

Actually I'm Network+ Certified (big whoop), signed up for it literally the night before and passed the test without even studying. Most hiring managers laugh at Comp TIA certs because they're a total joke.

To the OP enjoy your job at Best Buy!
