The fact that it is based on a *nix kernal with complete command line accessability is awesome.

The currnet Apple line of laptops are the first laptops that I've ever seen that actually sleep and resume flawlessly. You close the lid and it sleeps, you open the lid and its ready to go in about 3 seconds. Its not once screwed up and hung, its never not gone to sleep and it doesn't take 5 minutes to wake up. If that is what flashy gets, I'll take it.

don't get me wrong, I think macs are great if you can afford them. I got a dell 8500 pretty loaded for around $1000. If I were to get the same in a powerbook it would be $2000 no doubt.

As for OS Dual booting winxp and linux is fine for me. Although I really wish someone would make a launchbar equivalent for xp.

I remember back when the Apple OS was completely free...wasn't that before System 7x? Or was it free up till System 7.5x???
