Plea for new Computer
I have gotten the CPU to run again! SO it wasn't the CPUs fault...nor was it the video card's fault.
Here's what I did to solve the problem:
I got a new processor in today, hoping to alleviate the problem that I have been having. I stick the processor in, along with the new videocard that I had gotten today and it was a no go. All LEDs were red. So I took out the new videocard and placed in the Hercules card in the third PCI slot(if placed in first slot, it doesn't clear the IDE controller, unless I disconnect the hard drive from the mobo).
I get frustrated so I start playing with the three RAM sticks all place one by one and each tested in the second slot while the Hercules card was in. No Go.
I took the Hercules Stingray 128 and put it in the 1st PCI slot. The computer booted up. I take out the Hercules Stingray card and place the AGP card and it booted right up, which befuddled me.
So now I'm here with two GOOD Slot-A T-birds. I will test keep probing the 700 T-bird as I know the 850 is definitely good.
What seems to be the problem? The mobo?
