Woohoo! New Netgear Firmware Fixes GameSpy Lockups

Just upgraded to the newest version firmware that was released yesterday and I can now scan and refresh without locking up my router. Cranked the servers to 40 and no problems. My only complaint about this router is now fixed. I love my RT-314


If you are running this router, I suggest you give it a try.

It came in a Zip file named rt3half.zip. The file is rasP3102.bin.


I just did a quick look at the updates for the RT-314 to see if anything new was out and it just happened to be released a few hours before I got there. I was going to link you to it, but their site seems to be down at the moment.

BTW..How did you flash your router? Its been awhile since I done mine and forgot. I think I used BulletProof FTP last time and uploaded it into the router.

I just used WinMe's built in ftp. Just dropped to a DOS Prompt and followed the directions in the .pdf file. It's pretty simple.

When I first got this thing I was screwing around with some settings and completely locked myself out. I couldn't get into the router to save my life. I had to go buy some cables and use that serial connection on the back...what a life saver that was, although a pain in the ass.

So don't screw up. haha

If I went by your rules I'd be on the stock drivers for all my stuff and in win 3.11

Its not like we are fixing hardware, just updating it.

Quickfingerz, it IS broke! If you try to use a gamescanner like GameSpy or PingTool the router will lock up after a few hundred servers. So this is a very important update for some of us.

If their server is still down when I get home I'll post the zip file I have.
