No, it's mainly because of politics and the fact that men are supposed to be fertile. Making ourselves infertile is like some sort of slap in the face. The woman who discovered the male birth control drug was pretty much black listed since day one. It *COULD* have been out years ago, but many of the males in the industry didn't see it as "proper" and pretty much sabotaged her studies and prevented lots of testing.
It's actually quite pathetic, but that's what happens in a male dominated world.
