So I got my cell phone bill today, and have a charge to restore service since I had a late payment. I didn't pay it on time since my address had changed and credit card payments were not authorized correctly since the cc address was different. The restore charge was equal to almost a whole month's service! So I called the customer support, and before I could explain why I didn't pay on time, they credited the charge back! Rock!

Never hurts to ask.

FWIW, most credit card companies have a 1/yr forgiveness policy on late payments. If you forgot to mail that check in and it was a few days late and they hit you w/ the $30 late fee + interest you can usually get some or all of that waived at least once.

Of course, if they happen to forget to send you the bill, and you use this forgiveness because you didn't proactively call and get your balance and send the payment in, you can't use it again later. :frown:

Have had it happen both ways.
