On my way home from my buddy's house and am crusin down the back roads at about 70 mph. I see this car riding my tail incredibly close so I slow down to let him pass then a big red light starts spinning. CRAP! I think man this is gonna be a huge ticket seeing as though I was in a 45 zone. He walks up to the car and tells me my FOG LIGHTS are illegal and that my interior neon lights are border line. So I flipped both switches in the car and turn them off but I still have to remove my fog lights now. Seems only white and amber are allowed for fog lights. Then to make matters worse I couldn't find my proof of insurance, but he didnt seem to give a crap about that. So I got 5-15 days to appear in court with the lights removed. Its my first ticket btw 😛
 
So you got a fix it ticket instead of a speeding ticket? No biggie then. Get it fixed. I think you got lucky. 😀
 
if your fog lights are blue they don't do sh!t for you in the fog. they're supposed to be yellow

Exactly cpals😉 What do I do about this ticket though? Should I sign on the back where it says "Admit responsibility with explanation" or just "Admit Responsibilty. I mean truthfully I never knew a very light blue fog light was illegal.....

Yeah seems more like the "glarerinator." IMO, the nicest fogs I've seen are from lexus, that very nice yellow/gold; reminds me so much of Le Mans.

And, i think it is illegal to have fog lights on when there is no weather to call for them, and you can't just have you fog lights on, you must have the low beam lights on with the fogs.

 
Well it was foggy out tonight so I flipped them on, I don't usually use them, and I had my other lights on (its 1AM gotta have all of them on😛)

There are also laws about how many forward lights you can have on at the same time. If your fogs were of the blue-bulb type, thats prob the reason. That is, not to say that all "blue bulbs" are bad, just that some are more blue than they should be, as long as the light looks white and not blue you should be cool. Although, like stated earlier, blue-white light isn't the best for fogs, either yellow, or regular halogen.

One of my mates was being tailed by some ricer who had those blue fogs on his crappy old fiesta....my mate drives a Toyota Celica so he was not impressed at all....anyway it was on a day where he had been stressed by customers all day....so after a mile of having these blue lights shining up his arse...he stopped at traffic lights, got out and knocked them off with a big screwdriver....the kid just sat in his car....scared....I don't think he'll be breaking the law with his illegal lights again!

I myself....would never do anything like that but thought it was funny. I got pulled over once....I had gone to pick my mum and her mates up from the pub (weird eh?) and I was onyl wearing a dressing gown because it was really late and not too far...the policeman thought it was hilarious "son in dressing gown....picks up mum and drunk mates from pub...."

Erm...when would you use them then??

I think it's full beam headlights that you shouldn't use. Fog lights (if they are genuine ones and not ricer crap) are designed to help in the fog.
 
In California, only law enforcement can display blue lights. You see blue, you know it's a cop.

take off the glaring blue lights
buy some plain white ones
they do work
for Fog.
aim correctly Please!

plead guilty with explanation,
better,go to the local court,with the removed blue lights with you and,or a reciept,that you brought them back to the store,and got a refund.
