Woohoo, just got pet fish tonight!!! *pics inside*

What is that ........ a tinfoil barb and some platies? 😀

If that is a Tinfoil Barb it's going to get hella big 😀

Chees,
Aquaman

My girlfriend chose most of the fish. All I chose were a Bala Shark and some kind of cat fish that swims on the bottom. The rest are Tetra's I think and a couple 24k Barbs.

You're not supposed to put fish into a brand new tank. Hopefully they wont die.

I had the tank running for a hour with the bag of fish floating inside for around 30-40 minutes before I let them out into the tank.

You're suppsoed to establish the water quality and bacteria levels in the tank for several weeks. i.e., get tank today, set it up, test water quality, introduce bacteria to the tank, monitor water quality for two weeks, if it's good, the bacteria should be established by then, and you buy some fish.

And, yes, there are such things as helpful bacteria.

Well, if these ones die, they will have at least introduced a few bacteria to the tank, so when you buy new ones in a few days they'll probably live 🙂 Not to say that these ones are definitely going to die. They might live. I'd say 50/50.
