Thanks for the support guys. 98.9% is my next goal. I know it's going to take awhile but I think I'm patient enough to eventually make it there.😀

Poof, it's good to see your part of TA.😀 I noticed the stats link in your sig and it kinda suprised me. For some reason I always thought you were crunching seti for TLC.😕
 
I crunch for a couple of people and crack for TA, but I figure if I'm gonna grace their boards with my presence and questions, then I should at least contribute to their cause. 😉 And I've learned so much info from both here and Ars that to me, the contributions are worth it! 😀

Well Poof that explains it. I knew you had alot more power than what your RC5 stats for TA show.🙂 You do indeed &quot;grace&quot; their boards as well as ours with your presence.😉
 
Yeah... that poor machine is running RC5 and SETI and a chat server - so no cycle goes to waste! 😉

But I did just switch a 486 DX4-100 over to RC5 since it's really choking on the seti v 3.0 client (it's running Linux). It had downloaded its seti WU on 11/12 and by today, it was only 32% complete! 🙁

Oh well... every little bit helps I guess! 🙂 And since TA has such a wild and crazy and fun bunch of folks, that's why I'm here! 🙂

Assimilator1 - I think it was heading for 400-some hours! 🙁 With the 2.x client, it was running a respectable 175 hrs/WU... 😛

I think the record is something like 2000-some hrs by someone running SETI on a 386/25 with a 80387 math co-processor. 😀 I remember seeing that result posted on alt.sci.seti over the summer... 🙂

Poof, as soon as I get a dang ISA NIC, I'm going to try running the 2.04 GUI on my 486 DX4-100. I'll post my WU times once the first one's done. 🙂
 
Sukhoi! Running the seti GUI on a 486 will probably be a worse experience than I had trying to stupidly install the graphical Caldera Openlinux 2.2 on one! Arrrrgggghhhh.... 😛

If you do get it going though, take a picture of the machine and send it and the specs to Carolyn from Carolyn's Clinic. She's been gathering together photos and creating a database of &quot;SETI Hall of Shame&quot; machines... LOL. The slower and older the better! She's got info and pictures of my 486 and my Sparc IPX (which does a WU in around 150-160hrs...heh). She hasn't put the site for the Hall of Shame up yet but I await it with relish... 😀

I'm happy for you dude! However, the way you worded it you are only ahead of 1.2% of users. I think what you meant was that you are in the top 1.2% of users! 😀

The only reason I point it out is that I used to hang around with a guy who always let people know that he graduated from Annapolis in the top 99% of his class.... after about two years it dawned on me what he was actaully saying and he busted out laughing... I was the only one that ever caught on! 😀
