Woohoo - I'm an AT subscriber & it's FAST!!!

A little pricy but it may be worth it - the speed improvement is VERY noticable - no more twiddling my thumbs waiting for a topic to download! I dig it!

One annoying thing, tho - that nice little $1 charge for "save the children" or whatever it is. not that i don't want to give to charity, but it really bugs me how they sneak that in where you won't notice it. kind of dishonest if you ask me. i've half a mind to report it to the bbb!

That is rather annoying, & it has been addressed in forum issues.

As far as I understand it it has nothing to do with AT, but rather the billing service they're using.

No matter how small, it is still a speed increase. But oh wait new members join faster than members subscribe, so the non-subscribers don't benefit.

The PM limit alone makes it worth it, it's pretty hard to trade when you have a 100 PM limit.

interesting, i never found the pm limit to be a big deal and i do some trading - but i guess probably pretty limited to what some folks do. anyway, more money to be made on ebay - so many suckers, so little time ... !

however, the improved speed of getting a long page of topic responses rocks - it was getting to the point where sometimes i'd have to wait for a minute+ to download one page - so much for DSL!

The biggest problem I have with this is that my friend 1 block west of me has had cable broadband for 2 years already through ATT, and my friend 2 blocks north of me got it last month (even though he couldve gotten it a long time ago). The serviceman told me that because i live in a townhouse complex, I could not get HSD (high speed data) through ATT yet.

I think he was bsing me and just didnt want to go through the hassle of wiring the cables into my house.

um.. i'm on 56k and let me tell you it's like having dsl all over again not that i'm a subscriber

funny thing is qwest (different company than the last one) fires up my dsl line in 3 days and counting lol
640k for 39.00 not too shabby last one was 768 up128 dn 60.00 month and was much lower in real life 350-400 up 64 dn lol

My husband subscribed a few weeks ago. When I noticed how fast it was I got jealous so I decided to subscribe.

I've been a subscriber for a few days and the difference in speed is definitely noticeable.
