Yes, yes, 😱 I screwed up and left the SMTP relay open for about three weeks after configuring crap, so now @home.com, Yahoo.com, Hotmail.com and Juno.com (thank gawd AOL wasnt spammed 😉 LOL) have either my IP or domain on whatever type of "spammer" list, anyone know the best route to getting oneself off those lists? 😱

Shux,

These ISP's usually subscribe to some type of open relay database,
such as ORBS. There are several others that I can't think of right off hand. But, you have to contact the maintainer in order to get removed.

Already checked. 🙁 At least I am not showing up there.

I had a customer once who got open relayed and blacklisted. I had to fix the problem (upgraded sendmail) first, and then contact every ISP that rejected their mail (check the logs) to tell them the problem was fixed. They were usually pretty nice about it, and the larger ones had contacts with the maintainers of the RBL's. ISP's are willing to help because it's their customers who are expecting to receive the mail that is being rejected.

That being said, it was 2 years ago and things might have changed.
