So our CFO/Executive board member used to have a hardtop Ferrari 360 Modena
Like this one, same color and year: http://www.rsportscars.com/foto/01/360_modena_4_800.jpg
I have long joked with him that i want to get my ride in the Ferrari, and we usually chuckle when I mention it and he jokes about how sooner or later I will get to ride in it....of course I would be happy with a ride, so that was all i was hoping for...
Last year he buys this -> http://www.jakeehrlich.com/Main/ModenaSpyder.jpg
And i ratchet up my requests for a ride in the monster car....
This morning on my way out to lunch I see the car in the parking lot so i swoop on over to his office and give him the usual poking, he tells me he isnt going to let me take it for a ride by myself..I say "I just want a ride..I dont want to drive it alone or anything.." to which he replies..."well then lets go for a ride!"
I am styling of course, its like 70 out here today bright and sunny with the top down ina 400HP Ferrari! We get out on the highway and he quickly gets it up to 100mph by 3rd gear and I am loving it...
We ride for a couple of miles, then he pulls over and says..."ok time to swithc up, you drive now..." I almost pass out since the bigman is going to let me drive his $200,000 car but I am not about to say no...
All i can say is you cant appreciate the fine machine these things are until you actually drive one, not just sit in it, or stand next to one...and even being a passenger doesnt give you the true feel of the power and the sound of the motor..it was heaven!
F1 style paddle shifting is the most awesome thing ever invented and this car handled like a dream! I took it easy for about 2-3 miles, and then he tells me to down shift and hit the gas to see what she can do..I oblige and we get from a rolling 20mph to 90mph in about all of 4 seconds....sweet!
Needless to say when i got back to the office, i rolled up driving the car and was the envy of the office and probably will be for quite some time.
Cliff notes:
SaigonK's boss has an 04 Ferrari 360 Moden Spyder
After much bugging about a ride, the boss man takes me for one.
Boss man decides to pull over and let me drive his $200k car!
I can now put in my notice and quit my job as there really isnt much more they can offer me.
