I kept getting calls from this collection agency. Despite telling them repeatedly that they had the WRONG phone number and add me to their DO NOT call list, they kept calling.

So I finally said I'm the guy they're looking for. Asked them "what's my loan number and address you have?" which of course they gave to me. Then I took care of it in my own special way. Two weeks later not a single call from the collection agency :)

Details!

Details! Because I have the same thing. I have been getting calls for the past 2 years or so asking for a lady who has apparently lots of of credit problems and debt collectors. I would put on my voicemail specifically explaining that this is the wrong number and that lady is not here. I would receive calls daily on my answering machine but then it would die down because of the voice message. After 3-4 months, it would start up again and I would have to record a new message. And this would repeat.
