Wait until all transactions clear and hard post before rejoicing.

Banks have a right to withdraw funds without your consent if it's a bank error.

yes i know. i seen errors before, were i deposit something and it gets double or triple and finally it gets fixed, but i never seen before where there is pre-authorize credit posted.

I still didnt get my actual paper stub for this week, i should get it today and i will see if maybe my company messed up or something.

it was most likely an ACH processing error, as ACH is how most payrolls are electronically deposited. If the deposit amounts were identical it is probable that your company screwed up and sent the ACH file twice. of course there should be safeguards against that, but... stuff happens

I had an $800 dollar deposit mysteriously show up in a savings account about eight years ago or so. I never touched it because I knew the bank would figure out what happened and sure enough less than a week later it was gone again.

I was like that when I got my tax refund, then I realized it was just what I earned but the government took too much of.

I had the bank accidentally deposit some funds in my account a few weeks ago. Apparently there's some guy in the metro area whose name is the same as mine, except my last name has 4 more letters on the end. The teller who looked up the account number for the depositor (seemingly a relative of the other fella, they share the same last name) was lazy and I guess saw a partial match. A day or two later the money was all disappeared :(

If it is not yours do not spend it. I almost went to Federal pound me in the a$$ prison because of this. Does not matter if the bank screwed up.
