Wifes up in Maine visiting her family. Her brother bagged an 8 pointer last weekend and shes bringing home some steaks! oooooh goodness.. :] :]

Anyone else like Venison?

Oh god..I love moose. My first experience was a fantastic moose steak...I didn't know it was moose at the time and said "Damn you have to tell me what the heck marinade is on this steak to make it taste so good!" :]

oh ehlla yeah fresh game is nice, except once a friend of my dad gave him a bag of frozen parts, and one night he had me cook em up, so i did, and they tasted funny, then my dad got in from work, he trys em. they were goose livers. . . but heck can ya get me some steaks too? got any bear?

I dont like Goose liver much at all but I do like chicken livers as well as lamb kidneys. :] No extra.. all mine mine mine.. and ive never had bear...

If you wanna try something different Stop and Shop here in massachusetts actually carries Ostrich patties....

I find bear way too tough and sinewy as a steak - it's allright if you make it into hamburg, though. Goose livers sounds gross as hell. I've got a nice venison roast to go with the Christmas Turkey. mmmmmmmmmm.

i've had properlly cooked bear and ostrich, and they beat beef silly, ostrich is real good.. the bear was nice too. but i couldn't hunt for myself. . at least not now, maybe some day if I'm forced to I might be able to . . .just don't got the guts to do it myself.

My brother-in-law brought home a pheasant that a friend of his bagged. It was good except for one thing: every other bite we were spitting out pellets. My brother-in-law forgot to mention his friends hunting philosophy... "It flies, it dies." I guess he startled the bird and shot it near point blank range.

I love deer jerky.

I hate it when people waste deer meat by making mincemeat - I think it's sooo sick tasting. All that good venison, gone to waste. Wanna know something really gross that I used to eat as a kid? Cow Tongue!!!!!
