Wow, I am finally back on cable, I had RoadRunner back in january and it kept going out on me and it was $50.00 a month so I dumped it and went back to 56k, after a few months of dialup hell I broke down and bought my own cable modem so the service will only be $29.95 a month ( no modem rental and a price drop) WOOHOO I am back baby :)

DSL, less than a week of down time in the past few months... all of which was bell atlantic's fault. it's been down twice... so it was a few hours on the most recent and 2 days or so a while ago...

why don't you make this a broadband nightmare thread, and make the dial ups drool and angry :p

Ok, you wanna know my broadband nightmare?
Strike #1 I live in a small town
Strike #2 I live over 8 miles from the CO even if we do get DSL
Strike #3 We have a small local cable monopoly that has cable modem service, BUT it is hybrid, they are running both it and their dial-up service on 1 T-1, not to mention the fact that they have no idea what their doing (ie writing down the admin password on a piece of paper in the guys wallet)

grrr :|

USWest is suck.

i hate their DSL(which im using) and almost tempted to go back to dial-up, simply because of the morons that run the place

My @Home connection has been incredibly reliable, having been down for only 4 days.

The latest outage was likely not even @Home's fault, because, according to them, someone cut the cable (!:Q!) between my local office and the "Super Node" to which it connects. How someone "accidentally" cut a cable as strong and rubust as this is something I wonder though...

You should be ashamed u EVER went back! I'd pay $5000 a month for my highspeed, even if it went down 30 times a day and was slower than a 2400 baud!

I sure did miss it, I think I'll keep it this time :p , I own the modem, and did all the setup myself, even got sygate sharing with my network going through a 5 port switch (the modem is connected to a nic with another nic in the same computer going to the switch and a second computer connected to the switch)

Yeah, I'll keep it ;)
