Got a new truck, drove it home tonight. MSRP was almost 40k :p

Spec sheet

Actual vehicle :D

If anyone is really interested I can have real pics tomorrow, we have to e-mail some to the insurance company anyway.

Its a 3500 cab & chassis ext. cab.
4x4
Extended cab
Duramax diesel/ Auto

Had the huge flatbed put on already.

Oddly enough not having gotten to drive one of the new diesels, it really isnt bad at all. Hardly any smoke or odor, really only loud at idle and accelerating off the line. At highway speed it is quite nice. Strange to see a motor do all of its work at under 2k RPM.

(Congrats)

Well, the deciding factor was price. We ended up getting it a lot cheaper then they would sell us a Ford for. I had also read of some issues on some forums with the new 6L diesel in the 04 Fords.

Of course the Duramax may blow up tomorrow, who knows.

Oh.......not a whole lot to see, just looks lke a big old basic work truck you see cruising the streets everyday.

No power windows, tilt steering or fold down armrest, but it has a CD player and dual zone HVAC

Um, what makes you think I even like foreign trucks? Have you never read any of my car posts? Ask resident Toyhomo fanboi NFS4 what brand of trucks I like most. :p

i didnt assume you were foreign, i just said foreign trucks dont match it, you really didnt specify. however ford and dodge both have had reliability issues.

I'm just messing with ya :) AFAIK, International worked out the kinks in the 6L. Pacfanweb and Quixfire deal with the TSBs and all that all the time - they'd know better than anyone here if the 6L is "safe" to buy.

Seriously though - that's a nice truck. Can't say I agree on the flatbed unless you do construction work, but to each his own  Did you trade in the Expy?

That's because by the morning, it's already lost thousands of dollars in resale value!:p

Um, then why did you even mention foreign trucks? And before that, say "...the chevy/ford/dodge can do..."? Then you say the Ford and Dodge have reliability issues

It will deliver lumber, pull around some various heavy ass 5th wheel trailers, pull oddly shaped heavy ass crap around with a chain.

Mostly it will live its life pulling stuff.

Nope, we are having a regular car-fest over here.

I still have the Expedition, wy wife still has her Acura. We are buying my old 99 Silverado back from my sister, and we have the new truck here as well as my parents old Rabbit convertible.

We spend 30 minutes every morning shuffling cars around trying to get both of us in what we need to be driving.

We traded in my Dad's 99 Silverado with 180k trouble free miles on the new truck.
