Wooden wishing well question

I bought the plans to make a big (almost 7 foot tall) wishing well, figuring I could build a couple and sell them before Christmas to make a little extra spending money. Well, I just got back from the Home Depot, and it was $178.00 just for the wood for one. Has anyone ever bought one of these, or seen one for sale? I was thinking I could sell it for $150, now I have no idea what someone would pay for one.

Wood is at a really high price right now.... especially for plywood and OSB. It's supposed to be coming down, by Nov, I've been told. Check later at the price. Any links to a pic of the project? That sounds like an awfully large amount of wood for a wishing well.

Also, I've seen wishing wells made out of a lot of short scrap 2x4's. To make the round part at the bottom, it looks about like what bricks would look like if you stacked them in circles. Looks good. If you have a source for scrap wood that other people would usually be throwing away, there are a lot of neat projects you could make with that stuff.

Looks like this one, includes the bucket and everything. Takes 18 8 foot 2X4's just for the base, so yes, it will be pretty big. I just talked to my wife's daughter, she paid $135 for one like this, so I think I'll do OK with this gigantor one. I live next to a rich (and clueless) neighborhood, I might be able to get $300 or so.
